In a shortened match due to rain the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton tennis team shut out Superior 5-0 on Tuesday. Led by #1 singles player, Kelsey Collier, the Lumberjacks won a series of tight games to pull out the victory.

Collier set the tone with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Natalie Burger at #1 singles and Alicen Johnson of CEC defeated Raya Kosey 6-3, 6-3 in a pair of close games. Savanna Ellena of CEC had little trouble taking her #3 win over Jillisa Galindo 6-1, 6-1.

The best matches of the day were played in doubles starting with #1 doubles where the CEC team of Reilly Kedrowski and Savannah Hanson had to rally for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Rikki Berchild and Carly Connor.

The #2 doubles match was just as thrilling with the CEC team of Kara Cresap and Kalie Shevich posting a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 win over Chelsea Bremon and Amanda Peterson.
