Cloquet Sweeps MLWR

The Cloquet Lumberjacks dominated the Moose Lake Willow River Rebels in Moose Lake in a volleyball matchup. The loss dropped the Rebels to  4-3 on the year.

MLWR started strong in game 1 by jumping out to a 4-1 lead. Cloquet stormed back and dominated the rest of the way winning 25-13. In the second game the Rebels led 7-4 before the Lumberjacks took over again as they hit 16 before MLWR hit 8. Cloquet would roll on from there winning 25-17.

Cloquet would make quick work of the 3rd and final game as they led the entire game winning 25-14. The Rebels fall to 4-3 after splitting 4 games at the Pine City Invitational last Saturday.

Adri Jusczak led the Rebels with 6 kills and 2 blocks. Haley Johnson had 9 digs, Nikki Grutkowski had 13 sets and Jodi Michalski tied Jusczak with 2 blocks.

The Lumberjacks now move to 3-1 on the season and they are back in action again on Saturday when they play in the 8 team north Branch Invitational.

Up coming games for the Rebels are Barnum visiting MLWR on Thursday and they travel to Crosby-Ironton on Saturday and they will play in a 12 team tournament which will also include local teams the Carlton Bulldogs and the Hermantown Hawks.
