The Carlton Bulldogs traveled to take on the Wrens from Wrenshall Friday night in a battle for the Brown Jug. Carlton last won the Jug in December of 2011.

In the first half, the Bulldogs would jump out to a quick lead, and never look back. The score at the end of the half would be Carlton 35, Wrenshall 20.

The Dogs would continue their offensive dominance, as they had multiple players in double digits.

The Wrens wouldn’t go down without a fight however, as they were only outscored in the second half by nine points on way to an 81-57 final.

Carlton went 21-36 at the free throw line, and knocked down 8 threes to help them take the solid victory.

Bulldog Junior Tyler Ojibway led the way with 21 points and 5 rebounds, while Jackson Mickle had 12 points and 5 rebounds of his own.

Junior Eric Soderstrom also put in a nice all-around effort, having 7 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 3 blocks.

Also scoring for the Dogs was Sam Macor 11, Matthew Hey 11, Efren Moralez-Cruz 7, Ryan Adams 3, Myles O’Leary 3, Ben Soderstrom 3, Nate Nilsen 2, Marshall Bennett 1.

Randy Wimmer paced Wrenshall, scoring 11 points. Also in double digits for the Wrens was Eli Krisak with 10.

The Bulldogs completed the sweep this week, as both the girls & boys teams took home the traditional Brown Jug.
