Panthers Pick up Second Win in Two Days

The South Ridge Panthers picked up their second win in two days as the Panthers swept the Cromwell Cardinals Tuesday night at Cromwell High School. The Panthers coming off a sweep of Silver Bay Monday .

The Cardinals and the Panthers battled in the first game of the match as it was the Panthers finally coming away with a 28-26 victory. With the close win in the first game the second game turned out not to be as close as the first as the Panthers came away with a 25-10 win.

Looking to rebound in the third game of the match the Cardinals saw the Panthers once again pull away in the end for the win as the final score was 25-13.

The panthers were led Tuesday night by Justice Janke who had 15 kills and 7 digs, Callie Thomason had 32 set assists and she also added 4 ace serves. Krystal Karppinen finished with 10 kills and she also added 7 digs in the South Ridge victory.

The Cromwell Cardinals were led by Rachel Hutar as she finished with 6 digs from the Cardinals, Allie Cahoon chipped in with 3 kills on the night in the loss for Cromwell.

The win moves the Panthers to 3-1 overall on the season and it will set up a huge sectional match up for this Thursday night when the Panthers will play in Carlton against the unbeaten Bulldogs.

Cromwell will look to get back in the win column when the Cardinals will next face the Wrenshall Wrens at home in a Polar League Conference Battle.
