The Duluth Northern Stars took on the Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets on Tuesday evening, skating past them 5-2.

The Northern Stars got on the scoreboard first when Ava Meyer scored on a power play at the 6:32 mark, putting Duluth up 1-0 early. Hibbing/Chisholm would respond, however, with Lilly Rewertz scoring at the 9:15 spot to knot it up at 1-1.

In the second period, the Bluejackets took the lead from a goal by Val Gooden just 1:30 into the period. From there, it was all Duluth, as Hannah Cornwell tied it up at 2-2 on a power play goal, 10 minutes into the period. Duluth then went up 3 minutes later when Ana Kunst found the back of the net, making it a 3-2 advantage for the Northern Stars.

In the third period, Sydney Schuman moved the score to 4-2, scoring 10 minutes into the period. Kunst then scored for a second time at the 16 minute mark to seal the 5-2 victory for the Northern Stars.

Kalei Kleive stopped 25 shots in the victory for Duluth, while Hannah Wentland stopped 20 for Hibbing/Chisholm.

The Northern Stars improve to 9-8-3 on the season and will look to win again at home against Grand Rapids/Greenway on January 26th. Hibbing/Chisholm dropped to 9-11 on the season.
