In a thrilling finish, the AlBrook Falcons took a 4-3 victory over Lakeview Christian Academy in girls softball played at Braun Park in Cloquet on Tuesday night. It took a late rally by the Falcons, but they managed to find a way to beat one of the top pitchers in the area in Anna Broman.

Broman was dominant early in the game as she fanned 13 batters, but the Falcons kept chipping away and they managed to tie the game in the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Falcons got a game winning hit to right field from Tayla Luczak who ended the game with a 2-for-3 effort against Broman.

A big key to the Falcon win was the 2-for-3 effort at the plate of catcher Alyssa Johnson as well as her ability to steal bases. Johnson put the Falcons in scoring position twice by stealing in the late innings as AlBrook rallied for the win.

While Johnson and Tayla Luczak fought offensively, it was Tiana Luczak who kept the Lions at bay by pitching a 1-hitter and fanning 9 Lakeview Christian batters.

Broman did her part for Lakeview as she struck out 13 batters, but she also gave up 4 hits, one of which was the game winner by Tayla Luczak.
