Two Harbors Tops Mariners

The Two Harbors Agates boys basketball has been off to a nice start this season and they would continue that on Wednesday night when they grabbed the 65-27 victory over the Silver Bay Mariners.

Two Harbors would get ahead and hold a comfortable lead at halftime, 34-15. The Mariners wouldn’t be able to change Two Harbors ways in the second half as Two Harbors would outscore them 31-12, leading them to the 65-27 win.

The win for the Agates would be lead by Alex Lemke who had a game high 18 points. Kyle Omtvedt would also get into double digits, scoring 12 in the victory. Also scoring for the Agates on the night would be Tim Bott with 8, Calvin Luhrsen tagging on 6, Hunter Preston and Kyler Kinn each having 5, Derek Peters and John Peer Jr respectively adding 4 points each and Derek Blair topping it off with 3 points.

In the loss for the Mariners, Michael Fisher and Mitchell Blomberg would have 6 points, Eben Fisher and Curtis Johnson would tag on 5 each, Spencer Tiboni added 3, and Jason Blood rounded it out with 2 points.

Two Harbors improves to 4-2 on the season with the win and will be back in action when they travel to take on the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers (3-4) on Friday, December 20th. The Silver Bay Mariners drop to 1-4 on the year and will go on the road to play the Ely Timberwolves (5-1) on Friday, December 20th.
