Floodwood Falls To Cherry In A Nail Bitter

The Floodwood Polar Bears would go into the evening as an undefeated team and hope to remain that way, but the Cherry Tigers would have something else in mind. The Tigers would come out with a close victory on the evening, winning 55-53 in the nights nail bitter.

The Floowood Polar Bears would hold the 31-23 lead at the half, but the Tigers would battle back and outscore the Polar Bears 32-22 in the second half to secure the victory.

Leading the way for the Cherry Tigers in the victory was Ted Clement who posted 18 points. Tim Bukovich would also hit double digits for the Tigers, adding 13 points in the win. Also getting into the box score was Lucas Clement who had 7 points, Brian Clement pitched in 6 points, Hunter Ersbo tacked on 5, Ian Bechtel had 4, and Tim Clement topped it off with 2 points.

In the loss for the Polar Bears, Riley Bernsdorf lead with 18 points. Ryder Lough tagged on 10 points, Willow Christenson added 9, Kyle Tamminen scored 8 points, Noah Thompson and Damien Autio each had 3, and Tanner Heggedahl rounded it out with 2 points.

With the victory, the Cherry Tigers improved to 4-2 on the year. The loss dropped the Polar Bears to 4-1 on the season. These two teams will square off against each other just a week from now on December 26th in the North Woods Tournament at 2:30 PM. Floodwood will play one game before then, when they play the MLWR Rebels (3-2) on December 20th at home.
