Superior Beats Duluth Marshall

The Superior Spartans would take on the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers on Thursday night and they’d come out with the 80-34 victory.

The Spartans would get off to a quick start on the evening, going up 48-15 at the half. Nothing would change in the second half as the Spartans outscored the Hilltoppers 32-19 in the second half while grabbing the 80-34 win.

Leading the Spartans in the win, would be McKenzie Schwartz and Connor Gray who lead scorers with 14 points a piece. John Curphy and Jon Lindberg each added 9. Jake Libal pitched in 8 points, Carter Anderson had 7, Nate Sanders and Devan Rivord had 6 points, Will Stream scored 5, and Matt O’Shaughnessy rounded it out with 2 points.

In the loss for the Hilltoppers, Alex Davis lead the team with 14 points. Cole Feriancek punched in 9 points, Cole Bradshaw added 6, Charlie Kratz scored 3, and Jake Schenk rounded it off with 2 points.

Win the win, the Spartans improve to 3-1 on the season and will next play the Proctor Rails on January 6th. The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers fell to 3-5 on the year and play the Two Harbors Agates (4-2) on December 20th.
