Eskomos Crush Blue Devils

A big night for Nick Emanuel helped to send the Esko Eskomos into the semi finals of Section 7AAA Football Tournament by beating Virginia 51-20.

Emanuel scored on a 75-yard pass and catch from quarterback Marc Peterson to open the scoring and from that point on the Eskomos took off for the win.  Emanuel also scored on passes of 35 and 50 yards from Peterson as Esko improved to 6-3 on the season.

Emanuel added a 35 yard score in the first quarter and that was followed by a John Carr five-yard touchdown run that eventually moved the lead to 22-0 after one quarter.

The second quarter saw another Peterson to Emanuel touchdown pass that covered 50 yards, a Brandt Hintsala 18 yard touchdown gallop and a Jaxson Turner 10 yard touchdown run that gave the Eskomos a 43-0 halftime lead.

Virginia cut into the lead with back-to-back third quarter touchdowns, but David Belden ripped off a 12-yard touchdown run in the early fourth quarter to help secure the eventual 51-20 victory.

Esko hosts Duluth Marshall on Saturday afternoon at 2pm in the Section 7AAA semifinals.
