AlBrook 11 BEST 0

For the second straight day, the AlBrook Falcons lit up the scoreboard offensively and stayed perfect on the season with a huge win over the Beavers of Babbitt-Embarrass-Soudan-Tower. Bryce Karppinen pitched a one hitter in the win.

Barnum 15 Cromwell 0

The Barnum Bombers picked up their first win of the season after starting 0-6. Justin Newman was the winning pitcher going 5 innings and giving up only one hit, while striking out nine Cardinals. Newman also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Carlton 16 McGregor 9

The Carlton Bulldogs picked up a big win at home Tuesday afternoon when they beat the Mercuries by seven runs in this Polar League match-up. The win improves Carlton to 3-2 overall on the season and they face Barnum on Friday.

Duluth Central 17 Esko 7

Esko jumped out to an early 5-1 lead Tuesday, but could not hold it. The Trojans came back and beat the Eskomos by ten at Duluth Central. Richard Jubie went 3-for-3 with a two run home run for the Eskomos.

ML-WR 12 Floodwood 0

The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels picked up a conference win Tuesday at Floodwood by shutting out the Polar Bears. The Rebels improve now to 3-1 on the season and play at Cromwell on Thursday. Rudy Ketchum was the winning pitcher.

Softball

AlBrook 18 Marshall 0

Abigail Otis pitched a one hitter on Tuesday as the Falcons pick up a huge win over Marshall at Braun Park in Cloquet. AlBrook had 22 hits in the win. Kyleen Fremling was 4-for-4 with three triples and 4 RBIs; Brittney Westgard added three hits and 2 RBIs.

Barnum 14 Cromwell 1

The Barnum Bombers continue to roll in girls softball as they beat the Cromwell Cardinals in five innings Tuesday afternoon. Katie Myhre was the winning pitcher for Barnum. Myhre, Claire Rodgers, and Katrina and Jess Newman all had two hits in the win.

Duluth East 2 Cloquet 0

The Duluth East Greyhounds picked up their third straight win to start the 2010 season, shutting out Cloquet by two runs. Marina Marlow pitched a three hitter for Duluth East.
Dalyce Gustafson, Kayla Masessa, and Courtney Esse had the three Lumberjack hits.

Pine City 6 Proctor 4

The Pine City Dragons knocked off the Proctor Rails Tuesday afternoon at Pine City High school in a non-conference match up. Kayla Weiss had three hits for the Dragons as they improve to 5-1 overall. The Rails drop to 1-4 overall.

Carlton 10 McGregor 0

The Lady Bulldogs rebounded Tuesday afternoon after losing their first game of the season last Friday. April Broneak threw a one hitter for Carlton. Melissa Clark and Megan Nelson each added three hits in the Bulldog victory.

ML-WR 13 Floodwood 1

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels bounced back from their loss to Barnum Monday by pounding the Polar Bears in Floodwood Tuesday afternoon. Katie Youngberg was the winning pitcher for the Rebels. Kim Ergen had three hits and knocked in 3 runs in the win.
