Youngberg 1-Hits Floodwood In 13-1 Win

Katie Youngberg has orally committed to play softball for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder next season. On Tuesday night the senior pitcher from Moose Lake-Willow River showed why she had college scouts drooling as she tossed a one-hitter with six strike outs in a 13-1 win for the Rebels over Floodwood.

Youngberg’s battery mate, Kim Ergen, who is also headed to Fond du Lac, smacked out three hits in a 3-for-5 effort that included a triple and three RBIs. Kaitlyn Greene and Andrea Youngberg also helped fuel the Rebel offense with a pair of hits each. Greene also added a triple in the mix.

The lone hit for the Polar Bears off of Youngberg came from Frankie Runquist, while the only run scored by Floodwood came from Shawn Behrendt.
