Marina Marlow allowed just three hits and the Duluth East Greyhounds handed the Cloquet Lumberjacks their first loss of the season in girls softball 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Duluth.

Marlowe was strong all game long and the Lumberjacks were unable to deliver the big hit when they had runners in scoring position.

Haley Sobczak pitched well for the Jacks also allowing just three hits, but the Greyhounds were able to get timely hits with runners in scoring position.

Cloquet’s hits came off the bats of Kayla Massessa, Dalyce Gustafson and Courtney Esse.

The Lumberjacks are now 2-1 on the season after opening with wins over Superior and Esko.
