Chisholm stopps Panthers

The Chisholm Bluestreaks pulled off a second half comeback as the Lady Bluestreaks defeated the South Ridge Panthers 49-45, after trailing the Panthers by three points at half time.

The Bluestreaks outscored the Panthers 25-18 in the second half as the Bluestreaks picked up a big sectional victory at South Ridge High School Friday night.

The Bluestreaks were led by Katie Buria who finished with 14 points, while her team mate Toria Marturano added 12. Jenny Casey scored 8 points, while it was Tori Anderson chipping in with 7.

The Panthers were led by Krystal Karppinen who finished with 14 points, Mikayla Olesiak added 10, Mallory Thiabault finished with 9, Justice Janke pitched in with 6, Ryanna Anvid finished with 4 and it was Lindsey Janke closing the scoring with 2 points.

Chisholm improves to 9-8 and they will face Greenway at home Monday night. The Panthers fall to 8-7 on the season and they will return to action on Monday night when they face the Spartans of Nashwauk-Keewatin in Nashwauk.
