Hawks Stop Hunters

The Hermantown Hawks Started fast Friday night and cruised to an 11 point win over Duluth Denfeld in a Lake Superior Conference battle at Duluth Denfeld High School.

Cade Zacharias led the Hawks with 21 points on the night while Thomas Madison added 18 points including nine of those coming on three-pointers. Kole Zuidmulder finished with 14 Christian Comstock chipped in with 5, and it was Zach Brendon and Justin Brendon each ending with 3 points.

Denfeld, which trailed by 14 points at halftime; cut the lead down in the second half but couldn’t secure a run enough to overcome the Hawks lead.

Jack Monson paced the Hunters with 15 points, while Jamarr Harkins added 14, Bryce Kucharski scored 10 points, Sjon Randa had 6, Connor Behm and Des Turner each closed with 2 points.

The Hawks improve to 13-7 and they will take on Superior on Monday night at Superior Senior High School. The Hunters drop to 3-14 and they will travel to Hibbing on Monday night to face the Bluejackets.
