CEC Boys tennis Bounces Denfeld 6-1

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team bounced back after losing to the Aitkin Gobblers at Aitkin High School on Friday to defeat the Denfeld Hunters at Wheeler Tennis Courts by a score of 6-1 Tuesday afternoon.


In the singles matches it was CEC’s Dylan Burslie defeating Chad Bolen 6-3, 6-1. Cory Bolen of Denfeld knocked off Sean Kedrowski 6-2, 6-3. The Lumberjacks’ Zach Zezulka beat Kyle Stupca 5-7, 6-2 (10-7), and in the final singles match it was CEC’s Luke Heine shutting out Joey Erickson 6-0, 6-0.


In doubles action Tuesday afternoon, the Lumberjacks Jake Sorenson and Chase Pritchett knocked off Tyler Morrison & Brendan Johnson 6-1, 6-0. CEC’s Ryan Kedrowski and Jon Hammitt bested Jordan Rock and Aaron Stinson 7-6, 6-3. The final doubles match saw the Lumberjacks sweeping the doubles portion of the match as Isaak Waldorf and Zach Peterson beat Matt Skurich and Tanner Jazdzewski 6-3, 6-3.


The Lumberjacks are now 3-1 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday when they face the Superior Spartans. The Jacks will face Princeton at Princeton High School on Saturday
