The Lady Falcons are starting their 20th season of AlBrook softball on a high note, winning three of their first four games including a 20-0 shutout of Marshall School of Duluth Tuesday afternoon at Braun Park in Cloquet.

The Falcons were led by senior Abby Otis, who nearly pitched her second no hitter in a week. She allowed just one Marshall hit and pitched 11 strikeouts.

The Falcons belted out 22 hits on the afternoon. Leading the Falcons in offense were Kylene Fremling who went 4-for-4 and Brittney Westgard who was 3-for-4. Fremling added three triples in the game and four RBIs, while Westgard also tripled and had two RBIs.

AlBrook coach Tim Anvid was very excited about his team’s effort after losing 2-1 to a very tough Barnum team on Monday. Coach Anvid said that the team is looking forward to their Thursday St. Louis County Conference match up with Cherry at Braun Park in Cloquet. “They’re a good team and it should be fun,” he mentioned.
