Esko-Carlton Golf Team Opens The Season

The 2010 spring sports season has arrived for teams participating in golf this year. Last week, the Eskomos opened their season with an eighth place finish in a 14-team three-man scramble at Pine City. Esko-Carlton had two three-man teams competing in the scramble.

The Esko-Carlton teams each shot separately and the two team’s scores were combined for the final result. Team one shot the fourth best score of the meet with a score of 68. Team members include Allan Davis, Marc Peterson, and Nick Neve.

Jared Weeks, Erik Bergstedt, and Kory Deadrick were the team members on Esko-Carlton’s second team, shooting a score of 82 on the afternoon. The 82 shot by the second team finished nineteenth overall.

The combined scores of the teams put Esko-Carlton in eighth place overall. Milaca’s Todd Norgart, Clyde Patnode, and Nick Sam shot a team best of 65, edging out Chisago Lakes Ryan Holt, Kyle Hagglund, and Gus Lindquist who shot a 66.

Chisago Lakes captured first place overall, followed by Milaca who finished second. Isle placed third, it was Pine city finishing in fourth place and rounding out the top five was East Central.

Esko-Carlton will be in action again on Tuesday in a dual meet at the Moose Lake golf course. The Rebels are also hosting a high school meet on Monday afternoon.
