Longtime Esko girl’s basketball coach Sue Northey, who decided two years ago to retire from coaching basketball, has once again come back into the ranks of high school coaching.
Northey and Mary Langdon are going to be co-head coaches of the Esko/Carlton girls golf team this season.

Northey and Langdon will start the season on April 12th in Pine City. Northey told Northland Sports Online, “Mary Langdon and I are co-coaching the team and are very excited to have the chance to teach and coach young girls in a great lifetime sport.” Langdon is an assistant coach for the girls basketball team and also an assistant coach for the Esko volleyball team.

“While coaching golf is a more laid back approach than basketball, I really enjoy the opportunity to work with young women and watch them grow and mature in every aspect of their life,” Northey stated.“Golf is a great game to test your own mental toughness and to learn the importance of persevering through a poor shot or a tough round on the course. These are life skills we can use forever!”

Northland Sports Online would like to welcome Sue back to the coaching ranks and wish her and Mary all the best this season.
