Lady Bombers fall Twice

The Barnum Bombers had been on a roll this season up until this weekend as the Bombers dropped back to back games for the first time this season as the Bombers lost to Floodwood of Friday by a score of 66-55 then Saturday they lost to Duluth Denfeld by a score of 53-44.

The Polar Bears came back Friday night after trailing Barnum 29-28 at halftime to outscore the Bombers 38-26 and pick up the 11 point victory. Sydney Lough had 19 points to lead the Polar Bears and Megan Aho finished with 16 in the victory. Cheyanne Johnson led Barnum with 15 and Daron Mainville added 14 in the loss.

Saturday saw the Hunters holding on to a five point 28-23 lead at halftime and went on to nine point home win. Cheyanne Jonson led all scorers with 24 points but it wasn’t enough as the Hunters Ashley Taipale hit five three-pointers and countered with 22 points of her own with the Denfeld win.

The Bombers fall to 10-5 on the season and they will face the Cromwell Cardinals at home Monday night. They will have a rematch with Floodwood on Thursday night. The Polar Bears improved to 9-7 and they don’t play again till the rematch in Barnum.

The Hunters move to 7-10 on the season and they will host the Braham Bombers on Tuesday night at Denfeld High School.
