Swanson Scores 1,000th Career Point In Win

The East Central Eagles and Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars squared off on Friday night. The Eagles would take the victory 71-35, but it would be an even more memorable night for East Centrals Lizzy Swanson who scored her 1,000th career point in the win.

It would be a complete team effort for the Eagles in the victory as they would have very balanced scoring. 13 different players would score for them in the victory as well.

Hana Fletcher had 13 points for the Eagles in the win. Briana Paige and Lizzy Swanson scored 11 and 10 respectively in the balanced attack. Taylor Johnson and Morgan Johnson scored 8 a piece, Kirsten Shank notched 5, Gillian Fogt scored 4 points, Gabby Villarreal and Bailey Kroschel each had 2, Bailey Eich and Sami Koland tallied 2 a piece, and Avery VanErp and Kelly Diggan topped it off with 1 a piece.

In the loss for the Jaguars, Dana Tekavec scored 12 points and Kelly McFarland scored 8. Breezy Schultz added 7 points, Laken Lymburger notched 3, Taylor Jackson and Oleia St. John each scored 2, and Abby Engelstad finished with 1.

The East Central Eagles improve to 2-6 on the season and will match up with the Proctor Rails (4-8) on January 18th at 6:00 PM at home. The Jaguars fall to 1-9 on the season.
