Barnum Girls Down Two Harbors in Softball

The Barnum Bombers defeated Two Harbors in girls’ softball action Tuesday, beating
the Agates by a score of 5-2. The Bombers remain perfect on the season and are off to their best start in over five years.

The Bombers, who were runners-up last season to Maple Lake in Section 5A, are looking to better that feat this season and make a run to the State softball tournament. Katie Myhre, who was three for three at the plate led the Bombers on Tuesday. She also drove in three runs and scored a run herself.

Sophomore Jenna Shanda was 1-3 from the plate. She also scored two runs and drove in a run. Claire Rodgers was one for two with a run batted in. Katie Myhre was the Barnum winning pitcher. She pitched seven complete innings, gave up two runs and four hits while striking out three Agate batters in the Bomber win.

The Bombers are in action again on Thursday afternoon as they travel to McGregor to take on the Mercuries. They will try to take their sixth straight win to start the season. Two Harbors falls to 2-5 on the season and will play at home against Proctor on Wednesday.
