MLWR Tops Rush City

The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels traveled to play the Rush City Tigers on Tuesday night and would come out with the victory, taking the game 62-46.

The Rebels grabbed the lead at the half, 33-19 and would also maintain the scoring advantage in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 29-27 en route to the 62-46 victory.

Leading the Rebels in their victory was a balanced scoring attack. Brent Fossum lead all scorers with 14, Ike Pederson scored 13, Erza Szcyrbak notched 12, and Charlie Adamczak tallied 10. Also scoring in the win was Matt Mach scoring 9 and Trenton Autio topping it off with 4.

The Rush City Tigers scoring was lead by Zack Melin who notched 11 points. Tyler Oscarson scored 9, Brandon Boehnle and Dylan Fessenden notched 7 each, Ryan Lind and Grant Thompson scored 4 a piece and Kyle Nelson topped it off with 1.

The MLWR Rebels improve to 8-6 on the season and will play the Silver Bay Mariners (1-8) on January 17th on the road with a 6:30 start. The Rush City Tigers fall to 3-7 on the season.
