Superior stops Cloquet

Despite 26 points from Kassidy Steen and 20 points from Jaiden Cofield the Cloquet girls basketball team dropped a 91-60 decision to the Superior Spartans on Tuesday night.

The Spartans, featuring two of the top players in the area, picked up 23 points from Hailey Kotney and 20 from Jessica Lindstrom.  Kotney has committed to play at UMD and Lindstrom will play Division 1 basketball in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Superior spurted out to a 47-32 halftime lead and then outscored Cloquet 44-28 in the second half.

Also scoring for Cloquet were; Hazel Erickson (8), Anna Fossen (2), Sami Zeadow (2), Kaylee McMillen (2).
