Newman Scores 2000th Point In Playoff Win

Katrina Newman scored 17 points to reach her 2000 career points plateau and assist the Barnum Bombers to a 81-36 victory over the Lions of Ogilvie
The win moves the defending champions into the section championship game.


The Bombers jumped to an early halftime lead of 50-20 and coasted to the 45-point win. They are looking to make their 4th trip in 5 years to the girls state tournament. The Bombers are led by Newman, who was last year’s Northland Sports Online player of the year and this year’s girls Polar League MVP.


The Bombers were led by Jessica Newman and Sarah Myhre with 24 points each. Katrina Newman followed with 17, Leah Nordvall with 9, Katie Myhre with 5, and Claire Rogers with 2.


The Lions were led by Brandy Erickson with 15 points. Others in the scoring column were Caitlind DeBoer with 9, Rachel Riviera with 4, Karlee Visser and Katie Steffen each with 3, and Kassie Remer with 2 points.
