Bombers pound Mariners

Kerry Rodd-NSO

In boxing when a fighter is in trouble his corner has the ability to throw a towel in the ring to signify they want to stop the fight.  Throwing in the towel usually happens when a fighter is so overmatched that he has little chance to win, let alone survive.  Last night the Silver Bay Mariners may have been looking for a towel to throw on the gym floor at halftime as they trailed Barnum 42-4.  Eventually the Bombers took away an 85-25 victory after they emptied their bench.

A total of 10 different Bomber players scored against the Mariners with Brandon Newman leading the way with 23 points.  Right behind Newman were; Zach Carlson with 15 points and Nathan Jelinek with 12 points.

Much of the early offense for the Bombers came on 3-point field goals as they tossed in eight long range shots.

Also scoring for the Bombers were; Hunter Fetters with eight points, it was six each for Tory Slatter and Tanner Fuglestad, Mitchell Weller added five points, Dacotah Haley chipped in with four points, Andrew Naslund and Chase Peterson each recorded three points.
