Jacks fall to ThunderHawks

Kerry Rodd-NSO

After skating to a pair of ties a year ago Grand Rapids and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton wanted to make sure that it didn’t happen again in a boys high school hockey game played in Grand Rapids onThursday night.  The Thunderhawks made sure that a tie was not in the books as they skated away to a 5-1 victory over the Jacks.

CEC held a huge shot advantage through two periods, but it was the Thunderhawks who dominated on the scoreboard.

Avery Peterson pumped home the first goal of the game for the Thunderhawks.  Peterson now has scored a point in 37-straight games to lead Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids built a 5-0 lead before Koby Bender scored the lone CEC goalie late in the third period.
