Esko Wins 6th Straight

Coming off a sweep in their holiday tournament, the Esko Eskomos would travel to Eveleth to take on the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears. The Eskomos would keep things rolling, topping the Golden Bears 50-26 for their 6th consecutive win.

Esko doubled up Eveleth-Gilbert in the first half, taking the 24-12 lead when the buzzer sounded. The haltime wouldn’t slow the Eskomos down, as they would roll 26-14 in the second half en route to winning the game 50-26.

Leading the way for Esko was Hailey Salo who put up a team high 12 points. Judy Wagemaker and Kailee Katt wouldn’t be far behind, each notching 9 points in the win. Karlie Kulas added 7, Ashley Bergerson pitched in 5, Ava Gonsorowski scored 4, and Jami Hansen and Selena Shady rounded the win off with 2 a piece.

The the loss for the Golden Bears, Katelyn Rice would score a game high 13 points. McKenzie Perushek added 6, Olivia Grummett scored 3, and Cora Deluch and Maija DePaulis topped it off with 2 points a piece.

With the win, the Eskomos improve to 6-1 on the season and will take on the Cook County Vikings (1-3) at home on January 3rd. The Golden Bears dropped to 3-6 with the loss.
