Boys Basketball

AlBrook 67 Cook 42

The Falcons built a huge first half lead and never looked back as they win this Section 7A match-up by 25 points. Peter Martin and Bryce Karppinen each scored 14 points in the Falcon win Tuesday night.

Carlton 61 Two Harbors 42


Jake Adams led the Bulldogs with 19 points, Mathew Lund and Allan Davis added 14 and 11 points respectively as the Bulldogs win this Polar League contest at Two Harbors on Tuesday night.

Cromwell 57 Floodwood 49


Jordan Smith scored 29 points as the Cardinals overcame a 13-point Floodwood lead late in the second half to win this polar league battle at home Tuesday night. Smith is now only six points away from 1000 career points. Amos Blanton had 18 in the loss for Floodwood.

Esko 77 Proctor 42

Adam Eskuri scored a game high of 21 points Tuesday night as the Eskomos defeated the Rails in this Section 7AA contest. Esko built a big first half lead and never looked back, going on to win big at Proctor. Kaz Anderson finished with 20 points for the Rails.

North Branch 55 Cloquet 52

The Vikings withstood a late second half comeback as North Branch picks up a big Section 7AAA win at home. Kyle Grote had 24 points for North Branch. RaRa Jones led Cloquet with 18 points in the loss.

Hill City 70 Wrenshall 42

Zach Konerza scored a game high of 35 points as the Hornets downed the Wrenshall Wrens in this non-conference contest in Hill City Tuesday night. Aaron Gustafson scored 20 points on the night for Wrenshall in the loss.


Hermantown 70 Hibbing 63

Michael Swartz and Corey Anderson each poured in 19 points as the Hermantown Hawks pick up a big section win at home Tuesday night. The win gives the Hawks a firm hold on the third seed in the section standings.

Girls Basketball

Barnum 76 Hinckley-Finlayson 21

Sarah Myhre scored 19 points and Katrina Newman added 18 as the Bombers rolled to their 23rd win of the season at home Tuesday night. Barnum built up a 29-point lead at halftime and went on to the big win at home.

Cloquet 59 Duluth East 50

Annabel Morrisroe scored a game high of 28 points to help the Lumberjacks avenge a loss to the Greyhounds earlier in the season. Morrisroe also finished with 13 rebounds for Cloquet. Alex Freeman led the Greyhounds in scoring with 13 points.

Denfeld 63 Proctor 52

Madison Pertler scored 20 points and Sarah Fleissner added 15 as the Hunters defeated the Rails at Denfeld on Tuesday night. Abby Lundeen was the only Rails to hit double figures, finishing with 12 points in the loss.

Hermantown 45 Duluth Central 25


Nicole Niemi and Carmen Bergstedt each finished with 11 points Tuesday night as the Hawks defeated the Trojans in this section and conference match-up. Bergstedt hit 3 three-pointers in the win for Hermantown.

Hill City 84 Wrenshall 15

Haley McNeil scored a game high of 29 points and teammate Melissa Hesse added 26 points as the Hornets downed the Wrens at home in this non-conference match-up. Natalie Peaney led the Wrens in scoring with 7 points.


Rush City 64 MLWR 63


Moose Lake-Willow River had a shot to win this sectional match-up at Rush City Tuesday night, but missed a late shot and two free throws. Rush City picks up the sectional win. Maddy Adamczak finished with 17 for the Rebels.
