Boys 2009-2010 Polar All-Conf. Team Selected

The 2009-2010 Polar League All-Conference boys basketball team has been named. It is filled with several familiar names that have had exceptional seasons. Additionally. there are also some individuals making their second appearance on the All-Conference Team.

Amos Blanton of Floodwood was named the Polar League player of the year. Blanton has helped to lead the Polar Bears to a current 15-6 record overall. He has also been an important player for the Polar Bears over the last three seasons. Blanton is currently averaging 19.7 points per game for Floodwood.

The First Team All-Conference members are Jake Stainbrook from Esko, Jordan Smith from Cromwell, Adam Eskuri from Esko, Josh Hogan from Barnum, and Trevor Nummela for Moose Lake-Willow River.

Members of the second team All Conference are Mike Austin of Cook County, Jake Adams from Carlton, Nick White from Barnum, Ryan Hutar from Cromwell and Caleb Koecher from Moose Lake-Willow River.

Those that were selected as honorable mention include Preston Hurd of McGregor, Ryan Guentzel from Two Harbors, Aaron Gustafson of Wrenshall, Jared Schminski of Floodwood, Justin Newman from Barnum, Jackson Lindquist from Esko, James Groth from Cook County, Garrett Collins from McGregor, Luke Thun from Silver Bay, and Ryan Adamczak from Moose Lake-Willow River.

All members of the All-Conference team will participate in an All-Star game that will be held in Barnum on tentatively March 29th. The teams are separated into teams and will square off as part of a girls and boys double header. The two coaches will be Josh Whalin of McGregor and Chris Tommila of Floodwood.
