Claudia Turner1046Claudia Turner1046Claudia Turner1046 (427x640)Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Women’s Basketball student athlete Claudia Turner was named Minnesota College Athletic Conference Northern Division Player of the Week for games played December 9-15, 2013.
Turner scored 24 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added five assists in the Thunder’s 74-69 victory over Minnesota State-Fergus Falls last Friday at home. Turner was also 8 for 12 from the free throw line in the game. She currently leads the entire conference in scoring with a 24.1 points per game average. Turner is also among the league statistical leaders in steals with a 2.1 average per game, assists with a 4.0 average per game, and three-point percentage at 31%. Turner is a freshman guard from Esko, Minnesota.
The 2013-14 Thunder Women’s Basketball team is currently in fourth place of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Northern Division with a 2-6 overall record. The Thunder are on break for final exams this week and the semester break period next week before returning to action on Friday, January 3.
The Minnesota College Athletic Conference is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The women’s basketball conference includes 14 teams which are divided geographically into Northern and Southern Divisions.
