The Moose Lake Area Rebels decided enough was enough on Saturday as they scored six goals in the third period to snatch a win from certain defeat against Minneapolis East 8-7.

Minneapolis East scored six unanswered goals in the first period to take a 6-0 lead over the Rebels. In the second period, the Rebels answered back with goals by Adam Ryan and Zach Cisar at 4:12 and 4:45 respectively to cut the lead to 6-2.

In the third period, Ryan scored just 38 seconds into the period to make it 6-3, but ME notched another goal at 9:22 to go back up 7-3. That would be the last goal of the game for ME and it would also serve to jump-start the Rebels. At 9:44, Michael Unzen cut the lead to 7-4 on a power play goal. Then, at 12:17, it was another power play goal by Josh Cisar, followed by a third straight power play goal, this one by Zach Cisar at 13:15. The Rebels had pulled to within 7-6. The Rebels finally tied it on a goal by Josh Cisar at 14:16 and then foreign exchange student Ville Mattala gave the Rebels the lead at 14:59.

The Rebels scored five goals in a 5:15 span of the third period to go from trailing by a bunch to taking the lead.

Austin Lanoue made 30 saves on 37 shots for the Rebels in goal and ME goalie, Nial Hay, made 22 saves.
