The X-Factor in the Section 7AA girls hockey tournament turned out to be Elk River. The Elks gained the #1 seed in the section, which effectively moved Cloquet-Esko-Carlton down to a #4 seed and a first-round game versus Duluth.

The #2 seed turned out to be Proctor-Hermantonwn-Marshall, Grand Rapids/Greenway was #3, CEC was #4, #5 was Duluth, Forest Lake took the #6 seed, Cambridge-Isanti was #7 and St. Francis the final seed in the tournament.

The top bracket will feature Elk River hosting St. Francis on Thursday night and CEC hosting Duluth at the Cloquet Area Recreation Center.

The bottom portion of the bracket will feature PHM hosting Cambridge-Isanti and Grand Rapids/Greenway hosting Forest Lake.

The first and second rounds of the tournament, which are Thursday and Saturday, will be played at the home site of the higher seed with the finals being played at the Heritage Center a week from Thursday.
