Barnum Wins at MLWR

The Barnum Bombers Boys basketball team defeated the Moose Lake Willow River Rebels in Moose Lake 74-53. The Bombers improve to 2-1 as the Rebels fall to 2-2.

MLWR began the game minus Ezra Szczyrbak and Ike Pederson do to illness. Barnum quickly took advantage as they took an early lead. The Rebels made it close at the end of the first half with a late run that closed the gap to 30-22.

Barnum came out in the 2nd half with a vengeance and out scored the Rebels 44-31. Zach Schaumberg and Brad Fossum both went down with injuries. Schaumberg returned to finish the game. Fossum fell late in the 2nd half and bumped his head on the floor and did not return.

Matt Mach and Charlie Adamczak led the Rebels with 13pts and 12 pts respectively. Zach Schaumburg pitched in 9 pts. The Bombers were paced by Brandon Newman with 32 pts. Nathan Jelinek scored 14pts.

MLWR gets back to action on Tuesday Dec. 17th at home against Proctor. Barnum plays next Thursday at Pine City on Dec 19th.
