Esko Girls Win Hawk Invite

The Esko girls make a statement at the Hawk invite Thursday in Hermantown as they got by Hermantown by a margin of one point. In Boys action, it was Hermantown coming off with the win.

The Hawk invite featured twelve teams from across northern Minnesota. In the girls meet it was Esko 147pts in first place, Hermantown was second with 146, Third places was Two Harbors 104, Fourth was Greenway 91, Cromwell finished fifth at 53, the rest of the schools finished as follows: Carlton 40, Nashwauk-Keewatin 29, AlBrook 19, Cotton 14, McGregor 8, Lakeview Christian Academy 4, Silver Bay-Cook County 0.

The Boys team standings are; Hermantown first with 201, Two Harbors was second 110.3, Third place was Esko with 110.3, Fourth was Cromwell 77, and Greenway finished fifth with 60.5 points. The rest of the schools finished as follows: Cotton 38, Lakeview Christian Academy 19, Carlton 16.5, Nashwauk-Keewatin 12, McGregor 7.3, Silver Bay-Cook County 6, and AlBrook 1.

In the girls meet it was Esko winning all four relays the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200. Kelli Rengo won the 100-meter dash, Hallie Raisanen of Carlton won the 110 hurdles, Lenore Collman of Cromwell won the 400-meter dash, Erika Shady of Esko won the 1600 meter run, Kallyn Knutson won the 3200 meter run, and Sara Skyberg of Esko won the High Jump.

In boys action is was Trey Brademan of Esko winning the 110 hurdles, Adam Smith of Cromwell won the 300 hurdles as well as the 800 meter run, Jackson Lindquist won the 3200 yard run, Esko also won the 1600 meter relay. In field events, Cody Salo of Esko won the discus, and Klaeton Bubb of Esko won the high jump.
