Coming off of a disappointing loss against Ashland on Tuesday, the Cloquet Lumberjacks rebounded well on Thursday night. Cloquet shot much better from the field Thursday and came away with a 68-56 win over Duluth Denfeld.

The Lumberjacks spotted the Hunters an early 6-2 lead, but that was very short lived as the Lumberjacks went on a 15-0 run to take an eleven point lead. Cloquet then expanded it to a 17 point lead late in the first half and went on to be ahead 30-17 point heading into the locker room at the halftime break.

Denfeld came out firing in the second half, going on a 10-2 run of their own. However, the Lumberjacks responded right back, building up a lead to as high as 17 points late in the second half. Calcaterra seemed to be back on track as he scored a game high of 25 points in addition to his 14 rebounds.

Following Calcaterra in scoring for Cloquet was RaRa Jones with 14 points, Tim Defoe scored 12, Peter LaCourse finished with 8, Andy Wappes scored 7 and Zach Zezulka rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The Lumberjacks improve to 8-4 on the season and will host Hermantown on Saturday night.

Duluth Denfeld was led in scoring by Race Leonard with 24 points, Cortez Hamm had 14, Josh Benson added 12 points, Andy Switzer added 4 and Cory Bolen ended with 2 points in the loss. The Hunters fall to 2-9 on the season and will host Hermantown at home next Tuesday night.
