Boys Basketball

Cloquet 68 Denfeld 56

The Cloquet Lumberjacks jumped out to a early first half lead and never looked back as they went on to win this Lake Superior Conference contest at home on Thursday. Chad Calcaterra, playing in his second game back after sitting out with an ankle injury, scored a game high of 25 points in the win. Race Leonard had 24 for Denfeld.

Hermantown 85 Two Harbors 40

Coming off of a tough loss on Tuesday night, the Hermantown Hawks coming rebounded on Thursday to win this match-up by forty-five points at home. Colten Zacharias led the Hawks with17 points, including thre 3-pointers, while Corey Anderson added14 points in the win.
Hermantown has a rematchagainst the Lumberjacks Saturday night in Cloquet.

Girls Basketball

MLWR 48 Carlton 33

The hosting
Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels jumped out to a early lead Thursday night and withstood a Carlton run to win the match up by fifteen points.
The Rebels were led by Maddy Adamczak, who had 17 points on the night. Katie Bloom and Hallie Raisanen both scored 8 for the Bulldogs.

Cromwell 93 Wrenshall 29

The Cromwell Cardinals used 14 different girls to win the Polar League contest on Thursday night at home.
Cromwell led 57-9 at the half and continued on in the second half to cruise to the victory. Arianna Korpela led the Cardinals in scoring with 11 points, while Maria Burcar finished with 24 for the Wrens.

Esko 74 McGregor 31

The Esko Eskomos senior standout Amanda Bergstedt lit it up from the outside Thursday night to bring the Eskomos a Polar League victory at home. Bergstedt hit five three-pointers to finsih with a game high 24 points. Hope Sorenson led the Mercuries in scoring with 9 points.

MIB 51 AlBrook 38

The Rangers of Mountain Iron-Buhl outscored the hosting AlBrook
Falcons
in this girls high school match-up Thursday night. The Rangers jumped out to an early first half lead and never let AlBrook make a sustained run during the second half. MIB went on to win by 13.
