The Esko Eskomos overcame a rather slow start Tuesday night to defeat the Floodwood Polar Bears 60-50 in this Polar League Conference match-up. Looking at the 5-2 score eight minutes into the game, it was obvious both teams came out slow. Then things started to roll when the Eskomos took a ten point, 27-17 lead going into to the locker room at the halftime break.

The first half was a slow paced and well played with only six team fouls called and 11 turnovers made. Jackson Lindquist gave the Eskomos their largest lead at 10 when he hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to close out the first half.

The second half saw both teams match each other in scoring. Esko built a lead of thirteen at one point. Floodwood managed to cut the lead down to five, but in the end it was Esko winning by ten points.

Jackson Lindquist and Adam Eskuri both had 14 points in the win. Jake Stainbrook finished with 13, Cody Townsend added 11, Sam Nigon scored 5, Adam Deveau 2 and rounding out the scoring with 1 was Adam Ryan.

Josh Belden led the Polar Bears with 14 points including four three-pointers, Amos Blanton and Zach Heggedahl both had 12, Ross Schminski added 7, and Lance Russ rounded out the scoring with 5 points.

Esko improves to 7-3 on the season and will be in action again on Friday when they play at McGregor. The Polar Bears play next on Thursday when they face the Spartans of Nashwauk-Keewatin in Nashwauk. Floodwood falls to 7-2 on the season.
