The Ashland Oredockers withstood a late Lumberjack rally to go on for the win at home. Cloquet trailed 32-16 at halftime and ended up losing the game 63-55. The Lumberjacks did have the return of senior Chad Calcaterra on Tuesday.

The Lumberjacks came out cold from the floor on Tuesday, shooting only 31% from the field and going 0-7 from beyond the three-point arc. Ashland, on the other hand, started off hot from the outside, hitting seven three pointers and shooting 46% from the floor.

The second half saw Cloquet chip away at the Oredocker lead. The Jacks went on an 18-6 run to start the half and cut the lead to four.
However, Ashland answered right back and Cloquet never got any closer than eight.

Following Calcaterra’s 23 points was RaRa Jones with 16, Tim Defoe added 12,
and Andy Wappes and Ben Shultz both ended with 2 for the Lumberjacks. Reggie Habas led Ashland in scoring with 22, Derek Ericson and Brad Dufek both added 12 in the Ashland win.

Cloquet falls to 7-4 on the season and are in action again on Saturday night when they host Hermantown. Ashland improves to 5-4 overall on the season.
