The Esko Eskomos used their definite height advantage on Monday night to beat the Blue Devils of Virginia. With no one to stop the presence of Savanna Trapp inside, the Blue Devils were definitely in trouble.
In addition to their height advantage, great outside shooting helped Esko to win this Section 7AA match-up 69-28.

The Eskomos jumped out to a 34-17 half time lead and never looked back in their continuation of an outstanding season. Esko ended up with four players in double figures. Leading the Eskomos’ scoring column was Savanna Trapp with a game high of 17 points on the night, while also adding 7 rebounds and 7 blocked shots.

The rest of the Eskomos scoring went as follows: Keely Deadrick scoring 12 points (all from three-pointers), Amanda Bergstedt with 11 and Lydia Pelletier adding 10. The rest of the scoring was Julianne Carley with 8, Katie Tonner 6, Alyson Glumac 5, Danielle Salo 2 and Megan Reuer with 1.

The Eskomos improve to 10-1 on the season and host McGregor on Thursday. The Blue Devils fall to 6-6 on the season and face Eveleth-Gilbert on Thursday night in Eveleth.
