The Barnum Bombers maintained their perfect record Tuesday night as they beat the previously undefeated Floodwood Polar Bears 41-31. Because both teams are defensively sound, a low scoring Polar League match up was expected at the get go. Upon entering Tuesday’s game, the Bombers
were 7-0 and stayed perfect on the season with the help from their good defense and offensive execution.

“We have been playing really good defense,” head coach Richard Newman told Northland Sports Online. “The kids are improving every game and playing much better…Our offense is running a lot smoother than it has so we have been very happy.”

The Bombers were led Tuesday night by Josh Hogan, who finished with 10 points on the night. Justin Newman closely followed with 9 points and 8 assists. Taylor Carlson, Nick White, Bobby Minkkinen, and Andrew Youngren all added 4 points, and Hector Chavez finished with 1 point. Chavez also added several key steals in the game for the Bombers.

Barnum Improves to 8-0 on the season and will host Wrenshall on Friday night at home. Then, on Saturday, the Bombers face the state ranked Sebeka Trojans in a boys and girls doubleheader in Barnum. Floodwood falls to 6-1 on the season and host the Cromwell Cardinals on Friday night.
