In a high school baseball game that lasted over three hours Wednesday afternoon, thirty one runs on fifteen bases on balls from the Barnum pitching staff were featured. The Bombers lost to the Vikings by a score of 17-14.

“I am proud of how we fought to stay in the game,” head coach Dave Duesler told Northland Sports Online. “Our pitchers had a hard time throwing strikes which led to the fifteen walks we gave up…we didn’t quit though; we continued battling until the end and we came up just short.” Duesler added.

The Bombers top five batters got on base consistently and were productive in the loss Wednesday. Erik Johnson was 3-4, with two home runs and three runs batted in. Kyle Duesler was 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s, Frankie Barrios was 2-3 with a double, Justin Newman and Brody Peterson were both 2-4, Newman also added 3 RBI’s.

The Bombers now fall to 1-3 on the season and are back in action next Monday hosting Cotton. The Vikings improve to 2-0 on the season and host Cromwell on Friday.
