PHM Routes Superior 8-1

Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall pounded Superior 8-1 in girls hockey on Tuesday night. The Mirage outshot the Spartans 46-12 en route to their victory.

Nicole Mathews had one goal and Julia Gilbert added a pair of goals in the first period as the Mirage built a 3-0 lead. In the second period it was Superior’s Kelsey Hansen scoring at 7:47 to cut the lead to 3-1, but Justina Lindberg pushed the lead to 4-1 when she scored at 10:12. That was followed by a Reilly Fawcett goal at 10:51 to make it 5-1 coming out of the second period of play.

Abby Fox scored for the Mirage at 5:56 of the third and that was followed by a pair of markers from defender Emma Stauber at 7:50 and 16:00 to put the game away.

Amanda Bockovich made just 11 saves for the Mirage, while Spartan goalie Makayla Pott finished with 38 saves.
