The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys hockey team was in need of a win as they entered play Tuesday night in Duluth against the Duluth Central Trojans. The Jacks have struggled to score goals and have also struggled defensively, but that all changed with a 7-1 win over the Trojans.

Jack McFarlane, who scored three goals in the win, picked up a pair of goals in the first period at 6:34 and 11:18. Both were on the power play to give the Jacks a 2-0 lead.

The Jacks added three more power play goals in the second period. Tyler Tollerud, McFarlane and Corbin Morse all scored with the man advantage before Mike Andrews broke the scoring drought for the Trojans as the second period ended with CEC up 5-1.

Morse added his second goal at the 6:25 mark of the third period shorthanded to give CEC a 6-1 lead and Paul Johnson added a tally at 14:46 to close out the scoring.

John Scheuer got the nod in the nets for the Jacks and made 13 saves for CEC, while Central goalie Bet Gitar made 35 saves for the Trojans.
