CLOQUET – The Cloquet Lumberjacks put on an offensive display Friday as they rolled over the Proctor Rails with an impressive score of 76-22. The Lumberjacks took a 44-12 lead at halftime and cruised to the 54 point win at home.

The Lumberjacks opened the first half quickly when RaRa Jones exploded for 17 points in that half alone, helping the Jacks build an early 29-4 lead. The Lumberjacks continued to dominate on both the offensive and defensive sides, forcing Proctor into 17 first half turnovers.

Cloquet came out in the second half and continued where they left off, forcing turnovers and offensively clicking all around. Senior sensation Chad Calcaterra told NSO, “As a team we really played well. Lots of guys got some great minutes tonight…RaRa played exceptional tonight.”

Calcaterra finished with only 12 points after playing only one half on Friday night. Jones finished with a game high of 23 points for Cloquet, leading the twelve Lumberjacks that made it into the scoring column. Following Jones and Calcaterra was Andy Wappes with 11, Tim Defoe 7, Ben Shultz and Peter LaCourse 4, Connor Stowell, Sean Ferrell, and Karl Palmquist all had 3, and Zach Zezulka, Cody Stevens, and Dane Kiehn all added 2.

The Proctor Rails were led by Kaz Anderson, who finished with 6 points on the night.
Jacob White and Todd Heitala both added 5 points, Anders Vos finished with 4 and Ryan Rands ended with 2 points in the loss.

The Lumberjacks improve to 3-2 on the season and will play at Hermantown come Tuesday night. The Rails fall to 1-3 on the season and play again on December 29th when they host the Virginia Blue Devils.
