Justin Newman’s clutch three-pointer gave the Bombers a two point lead with just under a minute to go. Nick White then added a free throw to seal the 55-52 victory Saturday
in a non–conference game at home.

Both the Bombers and the Hunters played very well on Saturday, alternating who dominated the game. It was a huge three-pointer that put the Bombers in front to stay and give them their second straight win to open the season.

“The kids played very well today,” head coach Richard Newman told Northland Sports Online. “It was a tough game that both teams wanted to win…Justin hit the shot with under a minute to go, and Nick’s free throw forced them to throw up a three pointer at the end.”

Nick White paced the Bombers with 14 points on the afternoon, Newman finished with 14, Taylor Carlson added 10, Josh Hogan chipped 8, Bobby Minkkinen finished with 4 and Andrew Youngren had 2.

The Bombers improve to 2-0 on the season and will be in action on Monday night when they play the Cromwell Cardinals in Cromwell. Denfeld falls to 1-3 overall and will be home on Tuesday to host Superior.
