Mora 61 Carlton 29

The Carlton Bulldogs fell to the Mora Mustangs Friday night in the Isle Holiday Tournament held in Isle. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Sarah Aili, who finished with 8 points on the night and Katie Bloom, who chipped in with 7 points. The Bulldogs fall to 1-4 on the season and will play Ogilvie in the third place game Saturday afternoon.

Two Harbors 57 Proctor 30

The Two Harbors Agates expanded a nine point halftime lead to a twenty-seven point win on Friday as the Agates cruised to the non-conference win. The Agates led at halftime 27-18 and outscored the Rails 30-12 in the second half. Abby Ray paced Two Harbors with 24 points. Aubrey Knox led the Rails with 10 points.

Esko 68 Duluth Central 38

The Eskomos improved to 5-0 on Friday night as they downed the hosting Duluth Central Trojans 68-38 in a non-conference game. Savanna Trapp led all scorers on Friday night with 20 points. Keely Deadrick added 17 points for Esko. The Trojans were also led by Mary VonRueden who scored 16 points.

Barnum 71 Fulda 45

The Barnum Bombers beat the Fulda Raiders in a girls basketball match-up Friday night in Fulda. On a two game southern road trip, the Bombers will next face Murray County Central on Saturday. The Bombers improve to 3-1 overall on the season and Fulda falls to 3-1 with their first loss of the season.

Ashland 49 Cloquet 26

The Ashland Oredockers jumped out to an early 1st half lead and never looked back as they cruised to the twenty-three point win on Friday in Ashland. The Oredockers led 25-10 at halftime in this Lake Superior Conference match-up. Barb Malyuk led Ashland with 16 points; Annabel Morrisroe led the Lumberjacks with 9.

Cromwell 89 Silver Bay 33

The Cromwell Cardinals exploded for 55 points in the first half Friday night as they cruised to the win. The Cardinals’ Arianna Korpela led 12 Cardinals in scoring with 21 points. Katrina Davis scored 24 points in the loss for the Mariners. Cromwell improves to 3-0 on the season.

Hermantown 79 Duluth Marshall 7

The Hermantown Hawks held Duluth Marshall to just two field goals in their easy victory on Friday night. The Hawks had twelve players in the scoring column in their win at home. Rachel Hoium paced the Hawks with 12 points in the Hermantown victory. Tarin Hedquist led the Toppers with 4.

AlBrook 51 LCA 23

The AlBrook Falcons bounced back Friday night after falling to McGregor on Thursday. AlBrook took an eleven point halftime lead and held the Lions to only three points in the second half, winning by 28. Abby Otis led the Falcons with 13 points Friday night and Kourtney Karppinen added eleven in the win.

ML-WR 64 Wrenshall 50

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels played their first home game of the season and came away with their first win on the season by beating the Wrenshall Wrens in a Polar league contest. Lucas Probst paced the Rebels with 17 points on the night and Austin Jacobson added 14 in the win.

Duluth Denfeld 82 Proctor 70


The Denfeld Hunters held a four point lead at halftime and opened it to a twelve point win Friday night at Proctor High School. Corey Bolen and Race Leonard each had 20 points in the win for the Hunters. Ander Vos scored 14 points in the loss for the Rails in the Lake Superior Conference game.

Hermantown 80 Duluth Marshall 57


The Hermantown Hawks used a very balanced scoring attack on Friday night in their 23 point win at home. The Hawks had four players in double figures, with Colten Zacharias would leading all scorers with 16 points on the night. The win moves Hermantown to 3-1 overall this season.

Esko 82 Carlton 63

The Esko Eskomos built a 46-26 halftime lead and then withstood several Carlton onslaughts to gain the victory. The Eskomos remain perfect on the early season, while the Bulldogs dropped their third straight game. Jackson Lindquist led all scorers with 23 points on the night. Jake Adams led Carlton in scoring with 22 points.

Cloquet 55 Chisago Lakes 49


Chad Calcaterra scored 22 points to lead the Lumberjacks to a section victory at home on Friday night. Calcaterra scored 14 points in the second half, helping the Lumberjacks build a lead of up to 9 points at one point. The Lumberjacks improve to 1-1 on the season. Ben Figini led all scorers with 27 points on the night.

Nashwauk-Keewatin 75 AlBrook 69

Nashwauk-Keewatin jumped out to a big lead in the first half as they rolled to their third straight win of the season. The Spartans led 42-20 at halftime and held on as AlBrook made a huge second half comeback to win by six. Jordan Peratralo led the Spartans with 20 points on the night.
Kolten Karppinen led the Falcons with 27.

Silver Bay 54 Cromwell 47 O.T.

Luke Thun led all scorers Friday night, scoring a game high of 25 points as the Mariners won by seven points in overtime at home on Friday. The Mariners led by four at the half. Cromwell then outscored the Mariners in the second half to see the game end tied in regulation. Cody Smith led the Cardinals with 19 points.
