CARLTON – The Esko Eskomos built a 46-26 halftime lead, then played solid basketball in the second half to stop several Bulldog runs, leaving town with an 82-63 win.

The Bulldogs started out strong, doubling up Esko in the early going by a score of 16-8. The lead would be short lived however, as Esko began to run the floor and took their first lead of the game, 18-17, at the 8:14 mark of the first half.

The Eskomos continued on their first half assault, using a 25-4 run to blow the game open, building a 33-20 lead with 3:19 left in the first half on their way to closing out the first stanza by a score of 46-26.

The Bulldogs regrouped after the break and came out strong, opening the second half with a 10-1 run and cutting the score to 36-47. Hard play kept the Bulldogs in the game. However, Carlton could not get any closer because each of their runs were immediately answered by the Eskomos.

In the end it was too much for the Bulldogs, with the Eskomos picking up the 82-63 road win. Esko was led by Jackson Lindquist, who led all scorers with 23 points and 4 steals. Jake Stainbrook and Andrew Wendland also achieved double figures for the Eskomos with 18 and 11 points respectively. Brent Bodie, Adam Eskuri, Cody Townsend, and Adam Deveau all finished with 8 points in the win.

Carlton was led by Jake Adams with 22 points. Allan Davis also turned in a solid game, scoring 20 points. Jasper Youngren picked up 16 hard earned inside points and Matt Lund rounded out the Bulldog scoring with 5 points.

With the win, Esko moves to a perfect 3-0 on the young season. The Eskomos
will be back in action on Tuesday when they play host to Duluth Marshall. Carlton, 0-3 on the year, will be looking for their first win when they travel to LCA on Tuesday.
