Marshall finishes second in Marshall Classic

Marshall Falls in Championship Game

The Duluth Marshall girls volleyball team fell to Spring Lake Park in the Championship game of its own invitational tournament Saturday at Duluth Marshall High School. The Hilltoppers fell to the Panthers in two straight games as the Panthers captured the title.

The Panthers also defeated the Hilltoppers in championship pool play. The Panthers went 5-0 also picking up wins over Two Harbors, Wrenshall, and Lakeview Christian Academy.

Duluth Marshall who finished second had wins over Two Harbors, Lakeview, and Ely. The Ely Timberwolves defeated the Agates of Two Harbors to take third place in the Hill topper classic.

The Wrenshall Wrens picked up a fifth place finish with a win over over the Lions of Lakeview Christian Academy. The Wrens defeated the Lions two games to one in the fifth place match.
