Hill Murray Captures Greyhound Invitational

The Pioneers of Hill Murray took home first place in the Duluth East Greyhound Invitational Saturday at Duluth East High School. The Pioneers defeated Cambridge-Isanti in three games to capture the title, The Pioneers lost the first game 25-19, but rebounded and won the next two games of the match 25-17 and 15-7 for the first place finish.

North Branch knocked off Forest Lake in two straight games, 26-24 and 25-23 to take home third. Grand Rapids won two straight over the host Greyhounds to finish in fifth place, the socres in the fifth place match were 25-14 & 25-11.

The Esko Eskomos were seventh on Saturday when Eskomos knocked of Superior 23-25, 25-22, and 15-7 for the fifth place finish. Calumet beat Denfeld 25-19 and 25-18 to finish in ninth place overall.

In the battke for 11th and 12th places it was the Deer River Warriors knocking off Barnum in three games to finish in 11th place. The Bombers won the first game 25-11 but the Warriors came back and won the next two 25-17 and 15-7.
